August 27, 2005 9:05 pm - Lead Yourself Out of Poverty!
As long as you hold the "poorhouse" thought, you are heading toward the poorhouse. Whatever your daily, hourly and by the minute thought - so will be your life's reply. In fact, studies do support the fact that no matter how hard one may work, if he constantly holds in his mind the idea that he is destined to work in the same job, at the same place, for the rest of his life - odds are he will - for he has accepted it.
Whether you think you can, or think you can't - you are right.
- Zig Ziglar In contrast, the person who believes in her purpose and vision, who is not a mere egotist or idle dreamer, who sees in her desire a phophecy of something which she is perfectly able to make come true, - she is the person who has what it will take to make the world move.
Your final success will be measured by your ability to cling to your vision through any discouragement. It will depend largely upon your stick-to-it-ive-ness, your bull dog tenacity - your Iron Will to achieve more, and become better.
To grow.
August 28, 2005 9:35 am - Leadership Who Sleep Well - Lead Well
Sleep, gentle sleep, how have I frighted thee?
- Shakespeare
Over 100 years ago a young lady was heard saying that it was simply impossible for any woman to look charming or to be agreeable right after getting up in the morning. The Rev. Dr. Bushnell declared that, "a man must be next to a devil who wakes angry."
The way we feel when we awake in the morning depends on how we were feeling or thinking when we went to sleep.
If we retire for the night feeling a grudge agaist a neighbor or co-worker who has injured us; if we have hatred or jealousy in our heart; if we are envious of another's success, and if we go to sleep nursing these feelings, we awake in a depressed and exhaustive state.
Few people ever think of preparing the mind for sleep, although we go through great efforts in preparing our bodies.
Preparing the mind for sleep comes in many forms; prayer, forgiveness, positive self-talk, meditation, visualization, relaxation techniques.
One of the most important exercises you can go through each night before going to sleep that will help you to put the entire world back in it's proper order, is the process of mentally asking and answering the following two questions.
- Who Do I Love?
- Who Loves Me?
Focusing your attention on the above two questions for a few minutes before going to bed can help you maintain a better prospective on life, giving you more time to appreciate what you have and to be thankful for all your blessings.
Gratitude - is truly the greatest emotion you can feel prior to going to sleep each night. The effect of this will be felt each and every morning when you awake. You'll be grateful for each and every day, and therefore you will take greater pains to ensure you make the most out of each precsious day you have on earth.
Sleep well.
