LEADER'S NETWORK LEARN - GROW - LIVE
If you look around you will notice that we are on the tail end of re-designing our entire site. It's amazing how many items you find that need fixing along the way. One page in particular, the Self Improvement Store, we decided needed a complete overhaul. It just wasn't working and did not convey the true importance of self-education. First, we decided for a new name. The Leader's Network was born! The Leader's Network only focuses on a handful of high-quality tools and programs. These are the best-of-the-best in leadership development tools. We hope you like the new design, the updated Leader's Network - and you come back to visit often and share with your friends and co-workers.

November 10, 2005 8:26 am - The Dangers of Debt
The following quotes present powerful insights into the dangers of debt.Anyone who wishes to accumulate wealth and/or take him or herself up to a higher place financially, should take note of these words "Half the battle of existence depends upon the ability of a young economist to control his expenses in accordance with his means." - Unknown"He that a vice from year to year inherits Wieldeth an ax against his tree of merits." - Oriental Poetry "Debt is, like any trap, easy enough to get into, but hard enough to get out of." - H.W. Shawn "Waste neither time nor money, but make the best use of both." - Franklin "He that thinks he can afford to be negligent is not far from being poor." - Johnson "Economy is half the battle of life." - C.H. Spurgeon "There is no royal road to wealth, any more than there is to learning. It costs hard work, and the relinquishment of many pleasures, and most men may have it who will pay the price." - J.G. Holland
November 13, 2005 11:03 am - Time to "Go Fish'n!"
"Indecision" is perhaps one of the greatest killers of success. For some time now I've been collecting inspirational poems. Each poem makes a specific point that pushes and encourages me to take action for consistent and never-ending improvement. I love the first poem presented, "Just Keep On A Fish'n". I found this poem on the inside cover of the 1909 book "Do It To A Finish", written by O.S. Marden. Great little book. I can envision our SBI Turtle mascot throwing his line in the lake over, and over, and over again - without hesitation, without complaint, without fear of failure - always with confidence that each strategic CAST of the pole leads him yet one step closer to pulling in the Big Fish that he longs for. "Just Keep On A Fish'n" is a perfect answer to the graphic of the man sitting in front of a fork in the road (Picture is on first link below). Rather that waste so much time, sitting, worrying, being fearful of taking the wrong path - he needs to simply DECIDE (Cast a Pole, Start Fish'n!), put one foot in front of the other and BEGIN his journey so that he can Learn, Grow and LIVE. I feel like SBI provides us all with the Strategic Tools for us to proceed without fear or hesitation - effective tools to "Go Fish'n!" I hope you enjoy this collection of Leadership Poem's as much as I have over the years. Here's the two links if you are interested: Leadership Poem Collection #1 Leadership Poem Collection #2

November 16, 2005 8:10 pm - Network with the Giants in Leadership
Great leaders understand that their journey toward personal growth is in fact, a journey - it's not a single event or destination. No matter how strong of a leader you are, you can and must continue to strive to improve. Bottom line, if you aren't growing, you're dying - there is no "neutral". We recently re-designed the old Self Improvement Store, which is now known as the Leader's Network. Over the last several years we've researched a number of self improvement programs. Some good, some not so good. The majority of the programs we've researched DO NOT appear in the Leader's Network of recommended materials, simply because the tool or program did not meet our high standards. Many of self improvement programs we reviewed were good - but in order to make it to the Leader's Network page, the program must be GREAT. Meet the Experts, the leaders we trust, the mentors we've learned from and the tools we recommend.
