February 6, 2006 10:30 pm - New Income in 2006 - You CAN Do It!

Ya know, it's still amazing to me that after only a few short years, I've been able to teach myself how to establish a profitable website.

When I say "I've been able to teach myself", I should clarify that I was only able to overcome my very steep learning curve by taking full advantage of the wonderful tools at Sitesell.

I know whenever I talk about the Site Build-It! product, I start sounding like a commercial, but the fact is that it truly is a unique product that makes it possible to succeed on the net.

The thing that makes Sitesell different, is that it doesn't make the big promises that so many others do. Sitesell is NOT a get-rich-quick scheme. On the contrary, Site Build-It! is simply a highly effective tool that when used properly will bring targeted traffic to your website.

It's still up to you to do the work.

It's still up to you to create good quality content for your visitors.

It's still up to you to add value.

It's still up to you to use your unique voice to build your credibility and your brand.

It's up to you to be smart and stand on the shoulders of all those folks who've come before you and paved the way for your success.

Check out these real life case studies. Reveiw the 100's of successful sites that are already making money.

Did I mention, it's still up to you to put in the time and DO THE WORK?

If you are truly passionate about the theme of your site and you are committed to putting in the time - you will get results. In after only a few short months you'll add a brand new source of revenue to your life.

Interested at all? Do yourself a favor and send me an email. I'm more than happy to talk with you one-on-one. I'll talk with you more about my story and help you get your questions answered.

Let 2006 be the year that real change takes place in your life.

Best of luck.

February 7, 2006 9:27 pm - Giving Is Living!

There is a real key to the art of giving.

I love this little story that illustrates the need to give now, give often and to make giving a part of quality living.

The pig asked the chicken, "what makes you so popular?"

The chicken responded, "I give my eggs."

To the same question, the horse said, "I pull the plow and give rides".

The cow stated boldly, "I give my milk willingly".

The dog said, "I give protection and friendship".

"Well", said the pig harshly, "I give my ALL - my bacon, ham, chops. EVERYTHING! So why am I not as popular as all the others?"

The chicken responded, "You wait until you're dead to do it."

Giving to others is the best way to ensure you enjoy the fruits of life. There is no nobility, and certainly no one receives extra-credit in the hereafter by saving everything, only for the purpose of letting others inherit it.

In delaying your gift you deprive those who are to receive your gift, the opportunity to say a proper "thank you".

February 18, 2006 12:42 pm - How To Get Anyone To Do Anything!

How To Get Anyone
To Do Anything

Book Review - Our Top Pick!

R. Philip Hanes, author of the business leadership training book entitled, How To Get Anyone To Do Anything, was among the farsighted few who helped launch the American arts council movement in the 1950s.

This former CEO of Hanes Companies has served on the boards of more than fifty national, state, and local arts agencies. He has received three presidential appointments, three honorary university degrees, and twenty-four arts awards.

Along the way he assembled one of the largest and most respected private collections of eighteenth- and nineteenth-century American fine art. He lives with his wife, Charlotte, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where they continue to serve their community and country.

February 20, 2006 3:10 pm - Out Of This World Incentives!

Could your team use a little "mission control"? Houston, do we seem to have a problem with teamwork?

If you are stuggling with what to do to keep your team's morale positive and maintain a lively and production team, you might enjoy reading a recent article that was published in Incentive Magazine.

Writer, A.E. Smith interviews team leaders at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX and asked some very insightful questions about how the Space Center incents their employees.

Many won't be surprised to learn that it doesn't take a whole lot to motivate people who are living out their childhood dreams, who arrive with lofty goals of walking on the moon or space travel.

And isn't that the key learning here? Hiring motivated people! We wouldn't need to try to incent people if our team members were working in a place that allows them to follow their dreams.

As managers, what can we do to ensure that each of our employees believes they have the best job around?

In other words, what are WE bringing to the table?

The good folks at NASA have learned that even though they have a highly motivated workfoce, they still need to create an environment where people are encouraged and inspired to continually push themselves for the betterment of the organization.

Being a large organization of about 3,000 civil servants and 9,000 contractors, NASA focuses its incentive efforts on peer recognition. Public praise for a job well done seems to go farther than any kind of monetary award. Nothing can take the place of a well deserved pat on the back in front of ones peers.

February 21, 2006 7:31 pm - Success In Succession Planning

Looking to move ahead in your organization? Not sure what you need to do in order to climb the ladder at a faster pace?

Many of today's top organizations are adopting a more formal process of succession planning. In other words, as competition grows to attract key talent, companies are investing more time and effort in developing their key personnel for the next promotion.

Succession planning is becoming more of an expectation of mid-level managers. In order to get a good idea of what is involved in the formal process, check out our free Succession Planning tool.

The promise to organizations that adopt succession planning is that their future leaders will work well with others, promote teamwork and support common goals of the organization. These "CEO's" in training, will be quick to take away key lessons learned when they hear it directly from their superiors.

It's important to note that succession planning is not defined as a single event in the lives of your employees. Rather, it is a continual process, an ongoing discussion that begins with a formal invitation and doesn't end until the leader retires and becomes a values mentor to others.

February 21, 2006 9:10 pm - Shortage of Leadership Creates Opportunity!

Organizations are becoming keenly aware of the importance of leadership development among those in their talent pool.

Increasing risks in the business world make it imperative to prepare future managers and next-in-line leaders for the possible perils faced by those in highest postions.

Those organizations who invest in modern process improvements and sucession planning activities are better prepared to tackle future obstacles than their less prepared competitors.

David Dotlich, president of the Mercer Delta Executive Learning Center, encourages corporate officials to use ideas such as thinking like the customer and taking additional steps to create trust between staff. Each focus has become a critical factor in an organization's ability to manage risk and execute global business strategies.

David's organization recently completed a study on this very subject.

To learn more about the study, read this article entitled Study Connects Leadership to Performance.

February 22, 2006 1:42 pm - What's the Big Deal of Only 1%?

Businesses all across the globe realize that there is a big difference between a 1% and 2% defect rate on their product. They also realize that 1% more in customer satisfaction equates to big bucks on their bottom line.

Olympic athletes would do just about anything for an additional 1% on their score, as it would most certainly make the difference between gold and silver medals.

1%; while this seems like a relatively small number, the implications of gaining or losing an addition 1% can make the difference between success and failure.

The real message here is that we must strive always to do our level best. The products we make have our name on them, our reputation is on the line each and every day. If one out of every 100 customers are dissatisfied with our business, they will most likely tell at least 10 others. We must take every customer's level of satisfaction seriously if we are to rise above our competition and lead our industry.

Mike Hoban recently wrote a nice article entitled "Is 99.9% 'good" Good Enough?" - to learn more read the full article here.
