Leadership Interview on

LEADERS IN PROFILE
EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Introducing our leadership interview on GEORGE COURTNEY. George has a successful website at The-Authentic-Bartender.com

What service or product does your business/website offer?
My site is committed to providing the best information and products about the bartending profession. The site offers quality content on the subject of bartending and identifies many effective resources for my readers.

What motivates you to remain focused on growing your business/website?
First of all, I’m passionate about the subject of bartending. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others who share my interest. I want to grow my site into a site that I can be proud to own and share with those individuals and groups who share my enthusiasm on the subject of bartending. I’m committed to making my web site grow to be highly successful.

What has been your greatest challenge as a business leader, and how did you overcome it?
My biggest challenge has been being around negative people. I quickly had to determine that my time not being leveraged when I am around others who simply complain and focus on the negative. I like to surround myself with people who are energetic and creative.

I’ve also come across many scam artists on the net. I’ve learned to be cautious when buying on the net – if I’m not comfortable with a situation, I simply walk away. If the situation feels fishy or sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

Describe the most important activity(ies) you do regularly, that you attribute to the success of your site?
When building a website, or any business for that matter, the tasks involved can quickly become overwhelming. I’ve learned that by doing a little every day, adds up to a whole lot over time. I schedule time regularly to working on my web site.

Do you own other internet businesses? If so, what product or service does it offer? Url?
No, not at this time. I’m solely focused on development my current web site.

What is your greatest accomplishment relating to your site?
I’d have to say that would be the initial building of my site in only 7 weeks. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly, with the right tools, anyone can create a quality site.

How would you recommend others get started on creating a website?
I attribute my quick success on the net to my decision to buy the Site Build-It software. This all-in-one tool has made it very easy for me to stay focused on the content of my site, versus spending time learning html code or other “techie stuff”.

What advice would you offer to others wanting to generate income on the net?
Pay attention to what others are doing that appear to be successful. Learn from someone who has done it already if possible. Most importantly, always continue to educate yourself, or your competition will end up educating you.

Describe your favorite leadership tool?
(Hint: I.e., Book/Tape, Speaker, Role Model, Quote, Exercise, etc.):
Continuous self-education is the key. Regardless of how you learn (books, tapes, classroom) just learn and grow your skillset.

Any last "Words of Wisdom"?
The more you know, the further you’ll go! Go for it!
