Leadership Interview on
Matt Haller

LEADERS IN PROFILE
EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Introducing our leadership interview on MATT HALLER. Matt operates a successful web site located at www.hit-rap-lyrics.com.

What service or product does your business/website offer?
Our site offers just about everything associated with Rap music. We provide free Rap and Hip Hop lyrics to our visitors. In addition, we offer a convenient option for purchasing a wide variety of CD's, posters and MP3 products.

What motivates you to remain focused on growing your business/website?
Without a doubt, the thing I enjoy the most about this experience has been the daily interaction with music lovers all around the globe.

Music fans are a very passionate group of people who thoroughly enjoy debating the pros and cons of the latest music releases. Their ongoing feedback has been both inspiring and motivating, as I work to further expand and improve the site.

What has been your greatest challenge as a business leader, and how did you overcome it?
Building my web site has been a huge challenge for me. I certainly do not consider myself to be an expert at site design or on web site strategies. I'm really not a technical minded person.

What I DID know, is what I wanted my site to be about. Something I enjoyed and was passionate about. As an avid music lover, I knew that my site would focus on Rap and Hip Hop music.

During my initial web site research, I was fortunate to be introduced to Ken Evoy's SiteBuild-It (SBI) product.

Without a doubt, the discovery of SiteBuild-It gave me a huge advantage over many so-called professional webmaster. This product really does level the playing field for me when it comes to addressing tough "techie" issues.

Describe the most important activity(ies) you do regularly, that you attribute to the success of your site?
Well, on most days I would say that I routinely review and answer emails from people who are visiting the site. I've learned that many of the questions I receive via e-mail, provide creative ideas on how I can improve the value of the site to the reader.

In addition, I conduct a good deal of research on new ideas and content that I develop for the site. Continually adding new content that is both relevant and valuable to those who visit my site, is a major objective and therefore takes up the majority of my time.

In order to remain attractive and stay competitive, I must constantly pursue new HOT niches to expand my site and grow my business.

Do you own other internet businesses? If so, what product or service does it offer?
Currently, I am in the process of creating a brand new site that will be dedicated to help others to succeed on the net. I've learned so much since I first began my own journey, I want to help others to get started working toward realizing their own dreams of becoming a successful entrepreneur.

Although the name of the new site has yet to be finalized, this fully developed new site will be coming soon.

What is your greatest accomplishment relating to your site?
The thing I can honestly say I am most proud of is being able to walk away from my regular 9 to 5 job.

I'll never forget the day that I told my boss (Da Man) that being at his job was actually costing me too much in time and money.

I'll always remember the look on his face - he was literally SHOCKED!

I have to admit, it felt really good then - and it stilled feels great today.

How would you recommend others get started on creating a website?
First, research the SiteBuild-It (SBI) product I spoke of earlier. I can't imagine starting a new web site without it.

More specifically, read the manuals provided with the product. I can honestly say that all I did was follow Ken Evoy’s action guide to the letter. It ain't rocket science if will simply follow the guide - step by step. Again, avoid the pitfalls by following the guide, it's that important!

What advice would you offer to others wanting to generate income on the Internet?
Stick With It! Rome was not built in a day, and neither was Rome.com.

In order to succeed online, you have to be willing to learn new things each and every day. Start out slowly, but be sure to consistently grow in your knowledge and experience.

I started my online career with only 2 hours a day 4 days a week. Once I developed the "habit" of consistent improvement, things really started to happen for me.

Describe your favorite leadership tool?
In a nutshell, I'd say to read anything by Ken Evoy. He is a true gem - cream of the crop! Someday I plan on buying a house on Anguilla Beach (where Ken vacations regularly) just so I can pick his brain when he happens to be around.

In addition, I would suggest that anyone interested in creating an online business identify the areas they are weak and create a plan to address their weaknesses. Learning a little, everyday, will add up to learning a lot in a very short period of time.

Any last "Words of Wisdom"?
Life Is Change. Too many folks are fearful or frustrated at the uncertainty of possibly losing their job or being downsized.

I've learned that there is a fine line between being scared and being excited. The determining factor of whether you are scared or excited is your own personal choice. It's how we choose to look at life - it's how we choose to BE.

Prepare for whatever uncertainties you may have. Those that do prepare will experience all life has to offer and reap its many rewards. Those who do not prepare for their future, simply choose by default to be the victim of their own circumstances.

Editors Note: Matt Haller represents one more real-life example of how one's passion for an idea can quickly become a successful online business. What's your passion? Perhaps my #1 leadership tip is for you to identify and follow your passion. That's exactly what I did after discovering Sitesell.com. - Richard Gorham, President of Leadership-Tools.com.
