Our Terms of Use statement is pretty simple. Leadership-Tools.com provides this website as a service.
While the information contained within the site is periodically updated, no guarantee is given that the information provided in this website is correct, complete, or up-to-date.
Every tool on this site is free. Download it, save it, print it, and change it to fit your situation. Rename the sections, cut what doesn't apply, add your organization's logo. You don't need to ask permission and you don't need to credit us.
Use them with the people you lead, whether that's inside a company, a nonprofit, a volunteer group, or your own household. Use them in any trainings you run. Hand copies to the leaders who report to you. All of that is fine, and it's why the tools exist.
Please don't resell our tools, package them into a product you charge for, or present them as your own work. Please don't re-host the files on another website or file-sharing service.
If a tool would help someone, send them a link to the page it lives on instead of sending the file as an attachment. That will ensure they get the most current version, which matters because tools get revised, and it helps us keep making new ones.
The articles, guides, framework descriptions, and other written material on this site are protected by copyright and shouldn't be republished, in whole or in substantial part, without written permission. That includes reproducing pages on another site, in a book, or in course material you distribute.
Quoting a passage with attribution and a link back is welcome. If you want to do something more than that, write to us and ask. The answer is usually yes.
The Leadership Standardâ„¢ and the Leadership-Tools.com name and logo are trademarks of Leadership-Tools.com. You're welcome to refer to them when you're talking about our work. Please don't use them in a way that suggests we've endorsed, certified, or partnered with a product, program, or organization when we haven't.
The material here is general information about leadership practice. It isn't legal, financial, medical, or human resources advice, and it isn't a substitute for guidance from a qualified professional who knows your situation.
Employment matters in particular vary by jurisdiction and by organization. Before you use a template that touches performance documentation, discipline, termination, or compensation, have it reviewed by your own HR or legal counsel. We've written these tools from decades of practice, not from your employee handbook.
We update this site regularly, but we can't guarantee that everything on it is complete, current, or free of errors. Files occasionally move, links occasionally break, and tools get revised. If you find something wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.
We also can't promise the site will always be available or that downloads will always work. It's a website, and websites have bad days.
Some pages link to third-party sites we don't operate. We include those links because we think they're useful, not because we control what's on them or endorse everything they say. Once you leave this site, their terms and privacy practices apply, not ours.
Leadership-Tools.com includes these links solely as a convenience to you, and the presence of such a link does not imply a responsibility for the linked site or an endorsement of the linked site, its operator, or its contents. Exceptions may apply - please read our Privacy Policy.
This website and everything on it are provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. That includes the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Leadership-Tools.com isn't liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from your use of this site or the material on it. You're responsible for deciding whether a given tool fits your circumstances.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the date at the bottom of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
If something here isn't clear, or you want permission for a use these terms don't cover, write to richard@leadership-tools.com. A real person reads that inbox.
